WALSHasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he has received any reports from South Africa respecting the condition of the lepers on Robben Island, off Cape Town; whether he is aware that strictures have been passed in medical circles upon the administration, certification, and prophylactic methods employed; and whether he can state what steps are being taken in the direction of the curative treatment of the disease?
Mr. HARCOURTI have not received any reports on the present condition of the lepers on Robben Island, but I observe from the proceedings of the Union Parliament that proposals have been made for holding an inquiry.
