Major HOPEasked the Secretary of State for War whether, under Army Orders of 1st April, 1911, colour-sergeants appointed to the Territorial Force after 31st August, 1910, draw 3s. 6d. per diem pay of rank, while those colour-sergeants appointed to the Territorial Force before that day only receive 3s. per diem; and whether he will grant to all colour-sergeants serving with the Territorial Forces 3s. 6d. per diem, so that a few senior colour-sergeants shall not receive less pay than their juniors of the same rank while performing the same duties?
§ Colonel SEELYThe reply to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. With regard to the second part I would refer the hon. and gallant Gentleman to the reply to a similar question put by the hon. and learned Gentleman the Member for West Edinburgh on 16th November, 1911.
