§ Mr. NANNETTIasked the hon. Member for St. George's-in-the-East, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, whether the west window of Tintern Abbey has been repaired some time ago, 2408W but the scaffolding put up to effect the repairs remains in position, completely obscuring the window; and, if so, will he, in these circumstances, order the removal of the scaffolding?
§ Mr. RUNCIMANIt is intended to remove this scaffolding shortly for use in connection with other proposed works at the abbey. Its removal has been delayed pending the completion of a contract for these works, which involves outlay requiring Treasury sanction.
