HC Deb 24 October 1912 vol 42 c2396W
Mr. ROWLANDS

asked the President of the Local Government Board how many cottages have been built in the county of Kent under the Housing, Town Planning, etc., Act; in which districts they are situated; and whether he can give particulars as to the number of rooms and the rents charged?

Mr. BURNS

I have sanctioned a loan by the Malling Rural District Council for the erection of six dwellings, each containing a living room, a scullery, three bedrooms, etc., of which the rent proposed was 3s. 6d. a week, inclusive of rates. I have now before me an application from the town council of Gillingham for sanction to a loan for the purchase of land for housing purposes.
