§ Mr. MITCHELL-THOMSONasked the-Chief Secretary if he will give the number of conventual institutions in which renovation classes were conducted during the past year by the science staff of the Board of National Education; will he say what was the total cost of such classes; and whether, during the past year, such classes were held in any and, if so, in how many other schools?
§ Mr. BIRRELLThe Commissioners of National Education hold no classes in conventual institutions that could be rightly, described as "renovation classes." During the year 1911 there was one organiser's course in elementary science held in a convent national school. No exceptional expenditure was involved. No-similar courses were held in other national schools during that year.
