HC Deb 16 October 1912 vol 42 cc1247-8W
Mr. JOWETT

asked the Home Secretary if he is aware that none of the persons who took part in the attack on defenceless women at a meeting addressed by the Chancellor of the Exchequer at Llanystumdwy, Wales, on 21st September last, were arrested; and whether he intends to institute an inquiry into the matter before he sanctions further payments for efficiency of the police force to-the police authority concerned?

Mr. McKENNA

I would refer my hon. Friend to the answer which the Under-Secretary of State gave yesterday to the Noble Lord the Member for the Hitchin Division. The women were strenuously defended by the police, and I know no reason whatever for questioning their efficiency.
