Member for St. George's-in-the-East, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, whether the building for the extension of the South Kensington Spirit Museum is to be placed in the Natural History Museum Gardens, facing Cromwell Road; and, if so, will he state the reasons why this particular site has been selected, and whether any other sites have been considered.
§ Mr. WEDGWOOD BENNIt has been proposed, and the proposal has been accepted by the Trustees of the British Museum to place the Spirit Museum in the Gardens facing Cromwell Road. This site has been selected because it is the most convenient for the purpose. Other sites have been considered, but have been abandoned as they would interfere with the future extension of the Natural History Museum.
