§ Mr. GODFREY LOCKER-LAMPSONasked the Secretary to the Treasury whether there is any foundation for the statements made by lecturers on the National Insurance Act that in the case of the Post Office contributor class the right to maternity benefit, like the right to medical benefit continues till the end of the calendar year, even though the funds to the depositor's credit are exhausted; and whether there is any foundation for the statement that maternity benefit will be paid to a deposit contributor without any time limit, even though his credit is exhausted?
§ Mr. MASTERMANThe maternity benefit of a deposit contributor is paid when it is due out of the sum standing at the time to his or her credit, and is limited to the amount of that sum. I am not aware that any statements to the contrary have been made by official lecturers.
