Mr. SHIRLEY BENNasked the President of the Local Government Board what steps have been taken by the Government for the inspection of imported Chinese hair, with a view of finding out the possibility of the importation of leprosy germs and, if proved, of stopping it?
§ Mr. BURNSNo steps of the kind indicated have been taken. I have no evidence indicating danger of the transmission of leprosy by imported hair, but I shall be happy to inquire into any case which the hon. Member may bring to my notice.
