HC Deb 26 March 1912 vol 36 c404W
Mr STANIER

asked the Under-Secretary of State for India (1) whether the Government are now able to give the result of the inquiry into the question of allowing police officers in India to retire on full pensions after twenty-five years' service; if so, what has been settled; and (2) whether any reply has been sent to the petition of the Indian police as to relief from the block in promotion; and if he can give the reply?

Mr. MONTAGU

In reply to this question and the next I have at present nothing to add to the answers given to the two similar questions of the hon. Member on 31st July last. The Government of India have, however, been asked to expedite their inquiry, and the Secretary of State expects to receive their Report within the next three months.
