asked the Postmaster-General what has been the total number of words sent over the Pacific cable during the months of January and February of this year, since the reduced deferred rates have been in operation 1

I am informed that the total number of words sent over the Pacific cable system (exclusive of inter-Colonial traffic between Australia, New Zealand, and the Fijis) amounted to about 208,000 words in January, 1912, and about 211,000 in February, 1912. These totals were made up as follows:—
