HC Deb 07 March 1912 vol 35 cc675-6W
Mr. WILLIAM THORNE

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what amount of money was yielded in 1909 and 1910 from the Mining Royalties Tax; if he can state the total amount received from royalties upon coal for 1909 and 1910 in the United Kingdom; what is the average amount of royalty per ton upon coal in France, Germany, and Belgium; and whether the money received as royalty upon coal in the three countries mentioned goes into the pockets of landlords or is devoted to national purposes?

Mr. LLOYD GEORGE

I will refer the hon. Member to the answer that I gave this question when he asked it yesterday.
