asked the Secretary to the Treasury if he will state what amounts have been allocated up to date by the Development Fund Commissioners towards the improvement of the facilities for transport in the rural districts of England, Scotland, and Ireland respectively?

Advances by way of loan to the aggregate amount of £19,500 have been recommended by the Development Commissioners for the improvement of waterways in rural districts in England. No other advances have been recommended up to date in respect of the improvement of transport in rural districts.
