HC Deb 04 March 1912 vol 35 c170W

asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware of an attack made on Sergeant O'Driscoll, at Clonboo, near Annaghdown, on 1st February, 1912; and what was the nature of the occurrence?

The constabulary authorities inform me that about nine o'clock p.m. on 1st February last two shots were fired at Sergeant Driscoll and a constable while they were on patrol near Clonboo. Four pellets from the first charge struck Sergeant Driscoll in the thigh, but did not injure him seriously. The shots were fired from a wood, and the assailant or assailants could not be seen. No arrests have been made.
