§ Mr. MONTAGUThe salary of the members of the Secretary of State's Council appointed before the passing of the Council of India Act, 1907, is £1,200 a year; the salary of members appointed subsequently is £1,000 a year. They are not subject, as are members of the Civil Service, to fixed hours of attendance. The answer to the third and fourth parts of the hon. Member's question is in the affirmative, to the last part in the negative.
