HC Deb 17 June 1912 vol 39 c1458W
Colonel YATE

asked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether, in view of the fact that three men of the 19th Hussars were recently drowned whilst engaged in swimming horses at Aldershot, provision has now been made to have boats and appliances always handy at the exercises?

Mr. TENNANT

The actual precautions to be taken at swimming practices are left to the discretion of the general officers commanding-in-chief concerned. The general officer commanding-in-chief has been requested to forward a report on this accident, and to state the steps he proposes to take to guard against a similar occurrence.
