HC Deb 17 June 1912 vol 39 cc1457-8W
Colonel BURN

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that, formerly, several blind persons were employed as pianists at the canteens at Aldershot, but owing to a change of agents they have of recent years been gradually superseded by people who are not blind; and will he give instructions that blind persons are always to be given the preference, in view of the fact that music is one of the few professions they are able to follow?

Mr. TENNANT

This matter does not come within the purview of the Army Council, but rests solely within the control of the agents for regimental institutes.
