§ Mr. KINGasked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will give the exact form of words, agreeable to the Admiralty, in which he intends to move Clause 19 of the Pilotage Bill?
Mr. BUXTONAdequate notice of the exact terms of the proposed Amendment will be given. Substantially the effect of the Amendment will be to give the Admiralty the power to veto the Grant of pilotage certificates under the Clause to aliens in the case of any ports where in their opinion such a course would be prejudicial to public safety. Another Amendment will be proposed to correct a drafting error by inserting the word "foreign" before "ship" in line 21 of the Clause.
