§ Mr. FREDERICK WHYTEasked the Secretary for Scotland whether he can see his way to allow periods of educational service in England to be reckoned as recorded service for the purpose of the Scottish superannuation scheme for teachers?
Mr. McKINNON WOODIt is quite impossible to allow service for which no contribution has been made to the Fund to be reckoned for the purposes of the scheme. Certificated teachers in England are required to contribute to the Fund under the Act of 1898, and when they retire they will be entitled to an allowance under that Act in respect of their services in England, in addition to any allowance to which they may be entitled under our scheme for service in England.
