§ Mr. BIRRELLAt the Election Petition referred to, heard in August and September, 1908, forty persons were reported as guilty of corrupt practices, particulars of which will be found in the report of the proceedings published in the local Press at the time. In connection with the matter criminal proceedings were instituted against one person; but the magistrates refused informations. The names of these persons have been removed from the register of voters.
