Grant is paid in respect of the school in question. The Board have called attention to the facts that the lighting is not altogether satisfactory and that space is needed for the infants' exercises. The teaching staff appears to be adequate, and the recognised accommodation is in excess of the number in average attendance.1515W

There is no deficiency of school accommodation in Surbiton, but the local education authority have made proposals to build anew school for 100 infants which would relieve the particular school referred to in the hon. Member's previous question, and the Board are in communication with the authority upon the subject.
