HC Deb 11 December 1912 vol 45 c484W
Mr. STANIER

asked the President of the Board of Agriculture whether the English Board and the Scottish Board are now going to issue separate market reports; and, if so, when this will be done and what is the cost of collecting now in England and Wales and Scotland, respectively, under the English Board?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

The Returns of market prices will be issued separately by the two Departments after the end of the present year. The steps to be taken to obviate any inconvenience to the agriculturists of the two countries by reason of the new arrangements and the precise form in which the Returns are in future to be published, are under consideration. The cost of the collection of the Returns is estimated at £2,750, of which about one-fourth-is in respect of markets in Scotland.
