§ Mr. STUART-WORTLEYasked the President of the Board of Education whether, in a telegram addressed to Dr. M'Clure and read at a meeting at Leeds University on 21st October, 1911, his predecessor promised that the question of the formation of a teachers' registration council should be taken up as early as possible after the meeting of Parliament; and what his intentions are with regard to the establishment of a teachers' registration council.

Mr. PEASEI informed the hon. Member for North Somerset on 14th November that I was unable to tell him when the Order in Council establishing a teachers' registration council would be issued as questions relating to the finance of the proposed scheme remained to be settled. I am now in communication with the Treasury on the matter, and hope that it may be found possible to issue the Order in Council before long.
