Mr. POINTERasked the Prime Minister whether his attention has been called to the fact that since August prosecutions for non-vaccination of children have been taking place nearly every week in the Isle of Man; whether the Island Legislature has considered the question of introducing the exemption clause, similar to that operating in England, Wales, and Scotland; and, if not, whether he will bring to the notice of the Governor of the Isle of Man the desirability of legislation which would give Manx objectors to vaccination the same rights as those possessed by their fellow citizens of Great Britain?
§ Mr. McKENNAI understand that there have been several prosecutions lately. The Lieutenant-Governor informs me that 995W the Insular Legislature has not considered the question of exemption; and that no representations have ever been made to him as to the desirability of the legislation suggested. If there is any grievance, the matter is one for the Insular Legislature to consider.
