FARRELLasked the Secretary to the Treasury whether he is aware that, by a decision of the Court of Appeal in Ireland, county councils have been relieved of the duty of paying in future for advertising and printing, executed to the order of the Clerks of the Crown and Peace in that county, and imposed on them by Statute; whether he is aware of the effect of this decision on various printing and advertising contractors in Ireland, payment of whose amounts has been refused, and who are now referred to the Treasury for payment; whether this matter has yet been considered by the Treasury; and what action they propose to take in the matter, and when?
