§ Mr. CHURCHILLAs I stated in reply to the question on this subject on Tuesday last, very few ballots have been taken by the trade unions since the Osborne judgment. I have no information as to the proportion of members voting and could only obtain it by applying to the unions concerned, who would, of course, be under no obligation to supply it. The mode of voting varies, I understand, in the different unions; in some cases it is open, in others secret.
