asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Agriculture if he will state how many officials have been appointed under the Small Holdings Act, 1908; what is the total cost of their salaries; and what is the highest salary of those who have been so appointed?

NOTE.—The above statement does not include additions to the staff of the typists, boy clerks, messengers, and charwomen which have been made in consequence of the increase of the work of the Department generally—except in those instances in which the increase has been specificially attributed to the Small Holdings and Allotments Acts. The assistant secretary, the senior Small Holdings Commissioner, the head of the branch and the clerical staff are also employed on business arising under other Acts administered by the Board.
