HC Deb 27 February 1911 vol 22 c161W
Mr. KELLAWAY

asked what steps have been taken to discover the whereabouts of the M'Cann children, who are alleged to have been abducted; and whether, if the children are recovered, it is proposed to restore them to their mother?

Mr. BIRRELL

Inquiries have been made by the police, but they have not yet resulted in the discovery of the whereabouts of the children, although their movements have to some extent been traced. The Catholic Bishop of Down and Connor informs me, as the result of careful inquiries which he has made, that the children are not in any institution in his diocese. When the whereabouts of the children has been ascertained the question as to who may be entitled to their custody can easily be decided.
