Mr. CATHCART WASONasked the President if his attention has been directed to a case of a person who was convicted of driving his motor at a speed of 31 miles an hour, and that the said person's licence contained seven endorsements, all for furious driving; and if he will consider such an amendment of the law as will prevent such a person possessing a driving licence?
§ Mr. BURNSMy attention has been drawn to a newspaper report of a case which is apparently the one to which my hon. Friend refers. The adequacy of the penalties imposed for infringement of the provisions of the Motor Car Act will receive my consideration, but I cannot promise to introduce legislation on the subject at the present time.
