§ Mr. JOHN WARDasked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether he can state the 572W number of workmen now employed by the contractors on the new dock works as Rosyth; whether he has received any suggestion from the contractors for the decent housing of the workmen; and what action, if any, his Department has taken to provide such accommodation?
§ Mr. McKENNAThe number of men now being employed by the contractors on the dock works at Rosyth is 1,813. The responsibility for the housing of the workmen rests entirely with the contractors, but in order to assist the contractors in carrying out their responsibilities, the Admiralty have placed at their disposal a site to be used only for the erection of workmen's dwellings.
