§ Mr. MOONEYasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what were the actual amounts received in respect of licence duties from manufacturers, wholesale dealers, and retailers in the financial year 1908–9; what were the actual sums received for the licence to trade for the year 1910–11; and what are the amounts now outstanding in respect of each class of licences as the result of the concession made by the Commissioners of Customs and Excise permitting the payment of licence duties in instalments?
§ Mr. HOBHOUSEThe total net revenue received in respect of liquor licence duties in the financial year 1908–9 was £2,177,000. I regret that I cannot give the figures asked for for 1910–11. It is not the usual practice to make public detailed statements of the yield of particular heads of revenue during the course of the financial year, and I could not anticipate the usual Budget Statement of my right hon. Friend.
