HC Deb 15 December 1911 vol 32 cc2830-1W
Mr. COWAN

asked the hon. Member for Southampton, as representing the First Commissioner of Works, whether, having regard to the fact that Members of this House are now receiving salaries of £400 a year, and that indicators announcing, in the rooms set apart for their own use, the names of speakers taking part in debates are among the conveniences with which they are provided at the cost of the nation, he will further consider whether the capital expenditure of £80 and the annual expenditure of £25, being the amounts estimated by himself, ought to be provided for the installation of similar indicators in the strangers' galleries?

Mr. DUDLEY WARD

The First Commissioner has nothing to add to his former answer on this subject.
