HC Deb 15 December 1911 vol 32 c2823W
Mr. TYSON WILSON

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he has received any complaint regarding the suspension of the lift service at Earl's Court station of the Great Northern, Piccadilly, and Brompton Railway, on 28th July last; whether he is aware that the suspension of the service was caused through the liftman committing a brutal assault upon, and seriously injuring, a passenger; and whether any inquiry has been made into the matter?

Mr. ROBERTSON

No complaint has been received of any suspension of the lift service on the occasion in question. The incident referred to formed the subject of police-court proceedings, and, from a newspaper report of these proceedings, it would seem that the passenger was convicted of assault and the summons against a lift-man was dismissed.
