HC Deb 14 December 1911 vol 32 cc2689-90W
Mr. FFRENCH

asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he is aware that there are still a number of evicted tenants in the county Wexford unprovided with holdings; whether the Estates Commissioners have yet acquired the 2,000 acres of untenanted land in county Wexford which they were in treaty for; and, if so, when will the land be distributed amongst the evicted tenants of that county?

Mr. BIRRELL

The Estates Commissioners inform me that the number of county Wexford evicted tenants or representatives of evicted tenants whose applications for reinstatement have been approved, and who have not yet been provided with holdings is only five. As regards the latter part of the question, I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given to his question on this subject on the 14th November.

Mr. HACKETT

asked what steps the Estates Commissioners have taken to reinstate Mr. Ryan, Carrick, Loughmore, who was evicted off a farm on the estate of Sir John Garden, Templemore, county Tipperary.

Mr. BIRRELL

From the particulars given the Estates Commissioners are unable to identify the case referred to by the hon. Member.
