HC Deb 04 December 1911 vol 32 c1186W
Mr. TOUCHE

asked the President of the Local Government Board whether, in view of the fact that 630 men and twenty-four women have been registered for work at the Islington Distress Committee since the registers for the season 1911–12 were opened, out of which number only thirty-five men and five women have been provided with work, he will endeavour to further the provision of work by the Central (Unemployed) Body?

Mr. BURNS

I understand that the Central (Unemployed) Body have in contemplation a number of schemes of work for this winter, but I will bring to their notice the facts to which the hon. Member has drawn my attention.
