GREYHis Majesty's Consul reported on 2nd June last that 300 troops had been sent to the Welle, to quell a revolt caused, not by taxation in kind, but by the unwillingness of natives to accept money instead of cloth and salt. The disaffected chief surrendered, having been deserted by most of his followers, at the sight of the Belgian troops.
