HC Deb 20 April 1911 vol 24 c1244W
Mr. MacGHEE

asked the Chief Secretary if he has received a copy of a memorial which has been addressed to the Estates Commissioners by the tenants on the M'Mahon estate, Mountfield, county Tyrone, asking the Commissioners to exercise the powers vested in them by the Land (Ireland) Act, 1909, to purchase by compulsion the congested portion of the estate; whether the Estates Commissioners have taken any steps to carry out the wishes of the tenants; and, if not, when he expects they will be in a position to do so?

Mr. BIRRELL

The Estates Commissioners inform me that the memorial referred to has been received, and is at present under consideration.
