§ Mr. O'MALLEYasked the Chief Secretary whether the Government has promised to the Welsh Members that the English Board of Agriculture will not in future send to Wales inspectors ignorant of the Welsh language; whether he will reconsider the question of the National Board of Education (Ireland) sending into Irish-speaking districts in the county of Galway inspectors able to speak the Irish language; and, if not, will he state why Ireland should be treated differently to Wales in this important matter?

§ Mr. BIRRELLI am not aware that any such promise has been given by the Government. I cannot promise that only those inspectors who know Irish will be employed in county Galway.
