asked the Lord Advocate if he can state what proportion of the sum of £100,000 voted by Parliament for the relief of unemployment has been allocated to Scotland during the past financial year; to which distress committees grants have been made by the Local Government Board, and the amounts paid to each committee, respectively?

Out of the total sum voted by Parliament during the last financial year, £8,500 has been allocated to Glasgow, £5,000 to Edinburgh, £550 to Dundee, and £250 to Aberdeen—a total of £14,300.
