HC Deb 04 April 1911 vol 23 c2137W
Mr. O'DONNELL

asked the Secretary to the Treasury what were the grants given from the Treasury for primary and for secondary education in England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland, respectively, during each year from 1900 to 1910?

Mr. HOBHOUSE

Grants are paid by the respective Education Departments; and as the educational systems of the three countries differ in many respects a statement in the form suggested by the question might be very misleading. It would therefore be advisable that the hon. Member should address this question to the several departmens concerned.
