§ Mr. REMNANTasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether, in view of the public interest throughout the Empire in tile question of most-favoured-nation treaties, he will publish as a White Paper the correspondence which arose out of the memorial of the Canadian Senate and the 2167W House of Commons in October, 1891, praying for the abrogation of treaties affecting Canada, and especially the reply of the Home Government, dated 2nd April, 1892?
Mr. HARCOURTThe address which related to the German and Belgian treaties is printed at page 54 of Lord Jersey's report on the Ottawa Conference (C. 7553) and the same paper contains references to and quotations from Lord Knutsford's reply. Full information as to the discussions and resolutions on the subject arrived at by the Conference is given in the Parliamentary Paper, and Lord Ripon's despatch in reply is printed in full in (C. 7824). In these circumstances I do not think that further documents referring to treaties long since abrogated need be laid.
