asked the President of the Board of Education if he can state the total cost to the Exchequer of the fee grant under the Eduaction Act of 1891, from that time up to the present?

The total amount paid under this head from 1st September, 1891, when the Act came into force, up to 51st March, 1911, is £46,770,064.
