§ Mr. FIELDasked the Secretary to the Treasury whether, in consequence of his own inability to be present, through pressure of ministerial and departmental duties, to arrange a date upon which to receive a deputation of assistant clerks in order more fully to discuss the grievances alleged by them in their memorial at present under the consideration of the Treasury, he could arrange for the Permanent Secretary to the Treasury to receive such a deputation?
§ Mr. HOBHOUSEA reply to the memorial in question is about to be issued, and in the meanwhile I think that no advantage would be gained by discussing the matter with a deputation.
