GRAHAMasked the Home Secretary whether he is aware that, during the War, very many workmen have suffered financial loss through contracting dermatitis on account of working in picric acid; and whether he is prepared to consider a revision of paragraph 2 of the rules made by him, dated 26th February, 1918, in order that these men who have suffered a reduction in earning capacity may be entitled to compensation?
§ Sir H. GREENWOODI have no information to the effect suggested in the first part of the question. The provision referred to has been in force since the 6th May, 1916, when dermatitis was first scheduled under the Workmen's Compensation Act, and no complaints as to its working have been received at the Home Office; but if the hon. Member will for ward any evidence in his possession as to the need of modification, my right hon. Friend will be glad to consider it.
