§ Mr. SANDERSONasked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether a Department has been established in connection with the Estate Duty Office for the purpose of, or in relation to, the inspection and valuation of the estates of deceased persons?
§ Mr. HOBHOUSE:A Department is in existence for this purpose at the Inland Revenue. Its creation was necessitated 906W by the unsatisfactory nature of the valuations which in many instances had previously to be accepted.
