§ Mr. WILLIAM REDMONDasked the Secretary of State for War if a rifle range is to be established at Ballycannan, county Clare; and is he aware that the land in question is required for agriculture by the local people of the district?
§ Mr. HALDANEIt is intended to establish the range in question. It is understood that the land is mostly rough heather, and only a small part is arable and suitable for agricultural purposes. The land is the only available property which would meet the requirements of a range, which is necessary in the interests of military efficiency. Representations in favour of the range have been received from many of the inhabitants of the neighbourhood.
