HC Deb 12 April 1910 vol 16 cc1206-7W
Mr. O'SULLIVAN

asked the Chief Secretary whether he will explain the cause of the delay in making grants to two evicted tenants, Mrs. Johanna Bowler and Denis Healy, on the M'Carthy estate, Headford, county Kerry; and whether, in view of the circumstances of those people, steps will be taken to have their cases dealt with at once?

Mr. BIRRELL

The Commissioners have not sanctioned any grants in these cases.

Mr. O'SULLIVAN

asked the Chief Secretary whether he is aware that agreements were signed for the purchase of the M'Carthy estate, Headford, county Kerry, about six years ago, but that, owing to causes over which the tenants had no control, the sale was not completed; and whether, as all difficulties have now been removed and as the tenants are anxious to have matters wound up, all necessary steps will be immediately taken by the Estates Commissioners to complete the sale as soon as possible?

Mr. BIRRELL

This estate lies in a congested districts county. The question whether the Estates Commissioners or the Congested Districts Board will complete the sale is under consideration.
