HC Deb 12 April 1910 vol 16 c1204W
Mr. WILLIAM REDMOND

asked the Chief Secretary whether he will see that under the Development Act the much-needed drainage of the Scariff district, county Clare, is undertaken, so as to prevent future losses to the inhabitants of the neighbourhood from constantly recurring floods?

Mr. BIRRELL

I have no power to decide what works are to be carried out by means of advances under the Development Act. That will be a matter for the Development Commissioners when appointed.
