§ The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Health (Ms Hazel Blears)The Government are committed to ensuring that any person making an assessment of heroin addiction treatment needs is qualified to do so. Best practice in the assessment of heroin addiction involves assessment skills from a multidisciplinary team, and for addiction treatment the team may often involve a doctor and nurse or trained drug worker.
