Committee for Privileges met: Petition of Charles Marquess of Huntly, praying that he may be admitted to appear and be heard before their Lordships and before the Committee for Privileges by his Counsel and agent" in opposition to the Petition and claim of Sir Bruce Gordon Seton, Baronet, and that he may be at liberty to cross-examine such witnesses as the Claimant may produce, and to lodge a printed case, and produce stich evidence in contradiction of any evidence that may be produced by the said Claimant, and also such evidence as will support the Petitioner's right to the title, honour and dignity of Lord Gordon, in the Peerage of Scotland, as he may be advised to be material for the protection of his rights and interests considered; and the Petitioner in person and Counsel heard thereon: Then the Committee resolved, that the prayer of the said Petition be complied with so far at it prays for leave to appear by his Counsel and agents in opposition to the Petition and claim of Sir Bruce Gordon Seton, Baronet, and that he may be at liberty to cross-examine such witnesses as the Claimant may produce, and to lodge a printed case, and produce such evidence in contradiction of any evidence that may be produced by the said Claimant, as he may be advised to be material for the protection of his own rights and interests; and report of the said Resolution to be made to the House.
